Position Summary: PECNA is looking to fill the position Facilities Maintenance Tech - Level 3. This Maintenance Tech is responsible for maintaining the production equipment and machinery in proper operating order through preventative maintenance, basic troubleshooting, and basic repair.
Essential Duties:
- Perform routine rounds on mechanical and electrical systems, troubleshooting and repairs using standard equipment and hand tools with supervision.
- Performs well defined trouble shooting and repair on facilities equipment with supervision.
- Detect faulty operations, defective material, and report those and any unusual situations to proper supervision
- Being a First Responder, able to move rapidly through the factory to any of the manufacturing areas that may require an operations response.
- Assess a utility outage and take basic corrective measures needed to rectify the situation.
- Regularly interfaces with Engineering, Construction and other work groups including PECNA Tenants under supervision.
- Maintains appropriate work-related records such as equipment maintenance records, general work orders, maintenance request forms, and
CMMS (computerized maintenance management system) checklists.
- Adheres to all safety and company policies, safety regulations and maintains clean and orderly work areas.
- Utilizes CMMS for documenting labor hours and equipment maintenance reporting
- Basic skills and abilities of electrical & mechanical equipment and components including but not limited to the following systems:
o HVAC
o Compressed Air
o Steam
o Purified Water Systems
- Be able to read and identify equipment and fault areas on blueprints.
- Be able to draft, and follow Maintenance Operating Procedures (MOP) and Job Safety Analysis
- Read and interpret equipment manuals and work orders to perform required repairs and service.
Ensure a clean and secure work environment is maintained by strictly adhering to the 6S principles: Sort, Set in Order, Shine, Standardize, Sustain, Safety. Demonstrate a profound understanding of departmental workflows and processes and exhibit meticulous attention to detail - contribution is critical in guaranteeing a safe and efficient work environment.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify and resolve issues in a timely manner.
- Ability to work all scheduled shift hours
- Ability to train others at same or lower level within functional area.
Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) Requirements:
- To ensure the health and safety in the workplace and for the protection of our employees’, wearing PPE is a possibility and includes equipment such as a full Tyvek suit, safety shoes, gloves, safety glasses, face mask, and a full hazmat suit that includes a respirator. Pre-employment respirator fit test will be required based on functional area.
Qualifications: Requirements - Required and/or Preferred
Education
- Basic/Required: High school diploma, GED or 2 years of prior experience in functional area
- Preferred: Related Trade school/vocational graduate; 2 years of trade school
- Minimum of 3 years of related work experience.
- Basic knowledge and work experience in mechanical, electrical, plumbing, pneumatic, and HVAC in an industrial manufacturing facility environment
- Effective oral and written communication skills and willingness to work on a team
- Flexibility and a strong self-initiative are critical
- Electrical Safety in the Workplace
- Must have working-level knowledge of the English language, including reading, writing, and speaking English
- Must have basic knowledge in more than one mechanical/technical construction trade: Electrical, Plumbing and Pipefitting, Boiler Maker
- Basic Knowledge in the use of hand-held measuring devices, take readings for dew point, temperature, relative humidity, air flow, ampacity, pressure, and particulates.
- Must possess basic skills with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook).
Preferred Qualifications:
- 4 + years and apprenticeship program
- Industrial manufacturing facilities experience
- HVAC Journeyman/Mechanic experience
- Experience with computerized maintenance management systems (CMMS).
- Knowledge of OSHA regulations and workplace safety standards.
- Familiarity with building management systems (BMS).
