About the role
The qualified individual will perform daily activities of the maintenance staff. Be engaged in repairs and maintenance of all material handling equipment and facilities to meet operational/facility needs. This position may require shift flexibility. The successful candidate must be able to work any assigned shift.
The impact you can have
- Provide electrical support on both facilities related items, material handling systems and any other critical path electrical support.
- Participate in maintenance troubleshooting activities including electrical, communication issues, mechanical, hydraulic, pneumatic, HVAC, lighting, repair of MHE/conveyors.
- Participate in and mentor others in analyzing defects and failures in the above-referenced areas and ensure resolution with minimal disruption to daily operation of material handling systems and facility needs.
- Communicate closely with operations staff on problems associated with material handling equipment and building facility needs.
- Participate in preventative maintenance on material handling and facilities equipment per provided schedule.
- Evaluate and mentor others in assessing equipment, processes, operations, and assembly to determine time or quality revisions and suggest improvement.
- Participate in team building at all levels within the distribution environment.
- Be familiar with and practice safe work practices to prevent accidents.
- Assume additional duties and responsibilities as required to meet the established goals of the facility.
You’ll bring to the role
- 2-3 years previous maintenance experience preferred.
- Electrical expertise and/or electrical certification or degree.
- Hands-on electrical and material handling, conveyor control and maintenance experience (trade school or two-year degree a plus).
- Ability to lead and mentor others in both building controls and material handling systems.
- Knowledge of high-speed sortation and complex integrated MHE systems.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and provide effective operations support without significant Supervisor oversite.
- Strong problem solving and organizational skills and ability to adapt to a rapidly changing environment.
- PC control packages like plc’s, servo drives, frequency drives, etc.…
- Practice and teach with general lockout/tag out procedures.
