Now Hiring: HVAC Service Technician
Location: DoubleTree by Hilton - Springfield, MO
Essential Responsibilities:
- Perform and oversee preventative and predictive maintenance for HVAC and kitchen equipment to minimize breakdowns and emergency repairs.
- Monitor and evaluate regular maintenance needs (daily, weekly, monthly) of all HVAC-R equipment to ensure continuous operation of building systems, including rooftop units, indoor air handling units, boilers, chillers, air compressors, refrigerators, freezers, ice makers, and hydronic pumps.
- Monitor and adjust web-based building control and energy management systems, making repairs as needed.
- Interpret and understand blueprints and wiring diagrams.
- Maintain equipment records and ensure availability of supplies to support continuous operations and address emergency situations.
- Proficient in using HVAC tools, including a multimeter, refrigeration service gauges, hand torch, vacuum pump, recovery machine, leak tester, and other related equipment.
- Identify, prevent, and correct safety hazards to maintain a safe work environment.
- Ensure work conforms to industry standards and codes.
- Greet guests in a friendly and warm manner, showing initiative in guest interactions.
- Report for scheduled shifts on time and in uniform, in accordance with company policy.
- Understand and comply with all company policies and procedures related to this role and its responsibilities.

- Performs additional maintenance related duties as required.

Education & Experience:
- Valid certification from an approved HVAC (Heating, Ventilation, and Air Conditioning) program, or equivalent on-the-job experience as an HVAC technician.
- Minimum of three years of on-the-job HVAC experience required; experience in the hospitality industry is preferred.
- Three years of experience in facility operation and maintenance is preferred.
- Must have an EPA 608 Universal, or Type I & Type II, certification.
- Strong knowledge of methods and materials used in general building and HVAC maintenance and repair.
- A valid driver’s license and current vehicle insurance are required.
Hours:
- Position requires flexibility to work an adjusted schedule, including nights and weekends as needed. Responsible for responding to emergencies, which may require availability during nights and weekends.
Physical Requirements of the Position:
- Heavy work. Exerting up to 100 pounds of force occasionally, and/or up to 50 pounds of force frequently, and/or up to 20 pounds of force constantly to move objects.
Physical Activity of the Position:
- This role requires various physical activities, including climbing, balancing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, crawling, and lying down. Additional tasks involve reaching, standing, walking, pushing, pulling, lifting, picking or pinching with fingers, typing, grasping, feeling, talking, hearing, and repetitive motion.
Visual Acuity Requirements:
- The worker is required to have close visual acuity to perform an activity such as: preparing and analyzing data and figures; transcribing; viewing a computer terminal; extensive reading; visual inspection involving small defects, small parts, and/or operation of machines (including inspection); using measurement devices; and/or assembly or fabrication parts at distances close to the eyes.
- Visual acuity to operate motor vehicles and/or heavy equipment.
- Visual acuity to determine the accuracy, neatness, and thoroughness of the work assigned (i.e., custodial, food services, general laborer, etc.) or to make general observations of facilities or structures.
Environmental Conditions:
- Diverse environments: Work activities occur both indoors and outdoors.
- Exposure to hazards: Work involves various physical conditions, including proximity to moving mechanical parts, moving vehicles, electrical currents, scaffolding, high places, extreme heat, and chemicals.
- Confined spaces: May occasionally require work in confined areas, such as ceiling spaces, crawl spaces, small enclosed rooms, and other close quarters that could cause claustrophobia.
- Narrow spaces: May involve performing work in narrow aisles or passageways.
- This is a safety sensitive position that may be subject to additional safety requirements.
